Salihu Tanko Yakasai and Ganduje
Salihu Tanko Yakasai, his Special Media Advisor, was dismissed by Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje barely a day after the aide blamed President Muhammadu Buhari for his inability to bring an end to the country’s shaking security crisis.
Salihu had called on the government headed by President Muhammadu Buhari to either negotiate with bandits in the country or to resign.
Tanko-Yakasai made the remark on Friday in reaction to the kidnapping of students at the Government Girls High School in Jangebe, Zamfara State’s Talata Mafara Local Government District.
The fact that the development comes around a week after bandits have abducted some schoolboys in Kagara, according to him,
We restart the procedure if there is a recurrence. What is the goal? Where is the burden to those saddled with it?
“Just last week, it was #freekagaraboys; today, it’s #RescueJangebeGirls; who knows what hashtag we’ll come up with tomorrow? One for ourselves, maybe, when we get swept up in one of these bold assaults. This is heartbreaking and sad; I feel powerless & hopeless.”
After his remarks regarding Buhari during the #EndSARS protest, the governor’s aide was previously suspended by Ganduje, but was reinstated weeks later.
